Day-to-Day Management of Programs

Once a program begins, GED handles all aspects of the day-to-day management of the program. One of our Program Managers accompanies each group, handling every detail of the program on a daily basis and ensuring that the program runs smoothly and efficiently. This leaves the client's accompanying program leader free to deal with any 'internal' administrative matters that may arise on behalf of the client and to focus on any teaching duties they may have.

In addition to ensuring that all of the logistic support services run smoothly and efficiently, GED's Program Managers are responsible for the quality of the educational elements of the program, including:

• ensuring that those teaching on the program have all the support they need to perform at their best;
• monitoring the standards of performance of the teaching staff, tutors and guides;
• ongoing active integration of the educational content of the various components of the program;
• acting as educational, cultural, administrative, and welfare adviser to program participants;
• attending to health and safety issues; and
• where relevant, managing field camps.
